Armenians in Jazz Featuring Yulia Musayelyan

Armenians in Jazz Featuring Yulia Musayelyan

Arts and Culture

Description

Russian-born Armenian flutist Yulia Musayelyan's music combines modern jazz harmonies, odd meters, and improvisation with folkloric styles from Armenia, Argentina, and other cultures, seeking to bridge distant traditions. She is joined by an international ensemble of some of the most versatile and in-demand jazz musicians in NYC and Boston.

The Armenian Mirror-Spectator writes, “[Musayelyan] grooves as if she were a dual-native, balancing somewhere between Armenia and Argentina.”
