Out of My Great Sorrows: The Armenian Genocide and Artist Mary Zakarian

Arts and Culture Armenian Genocide

Description

A book presentation, art exhibit & discussion. Out of My Great Sorrows is the story of a woman whose life and work were largely shaped by the experiences of her parents, who were survivors of the 1915 Armenian Genocide. It weaves a narrative, told by her niece and nephew, which follows Mary Zakarian’s journey through life and the personal problems resulting from a traumatic background. It is also a cultural history of the Armenian immigrant experience in the U.S.
